On the face of it, the "x86" Processor market appears to be dominated by Intel and their competitors, AMD and Cyrix. There are though a handful of other chip makers who have recently come to the marketplace. These can offer the buyer yet more choice at the lower end of the PC spectrum, and are worth some attention.
These vary from the competant, with IDT and its accomplished WinChip series, the outdated with SGS Thompson and its warmed up
(read ex Cyrix) 6x86+, through to the relatively unknown Rise technologies and its Mp6 offering. Other CPU's include:
